Matcha-Flavored Cat Memes to Start Your Day With Extra Meow

Posted by Briana Viser

Two matcha's to go please. Oh, hi it's you. Have I transitioned to a matcha loving, yoga doing, mindful girly? Well if you want to classify everything into a strange box of stereotypes, then I guess you could say that I am. And so what if I'm drinking bone broth now! The point is to let cats be cats - I mean let people be people. Just like the Depeche Mode song, "People are people so why should it be that you and I get along so awfully?"

Something about Gen Z that actually impresses me is that they're so jaded and apathetic that they are probably the least judgmental generation yet. We'll see about generations after them. And cats that are Gen Z for that matter. My little boy is a only a few years old, so I'm not even sure what generation he falls into, but i can tell you that he would probably never drink matcha, no matter how much milk I put.

‘I keep thinking of simply stealing this cat, and find him a proper home’: A neighborhood cat lover

Posted by Laurent Shinar

The mistreatment of animals is one of the toughest fights to fight in our modern world. We have become so ingrained in the way that we view animals that it is hard to remember sometimes that they are beings with souls, just like ours, who want happiness and safety in their lives just as much as we do. Which is what makes today's story so heartbreaking, as it details yet another hooman having their thoughts poisoned by adults who do not know better and do not care to know how to properly treat a cat child.

And when our neighbor protagonist caught wind of the neglect and mistreatment taking place, a moral quandary was formed. The question was whether to steal the cat away from the child to spare it from any more mistreatment, or to try and educate the child little by little because this was not the first kitten the parents had gotten the child, and if this one disappeared then another would closely follow, repeating the cycle. What would you do in such a situation?

Shelter treats an adopted former-stray incorrectly, and dumps the responsibility on the new cat mom:

Posted by Ayala Sorotsky

We adore the people who adopt stray cats and give them a loving home, turning them into domestic kings and queens. Kudos for doing such a great deed and saving a cat from the streets. And we also adore the cat shelters, which give these strays a chance to heal and recover, before they find their furever home, however long it takes. The play such a vital role in saving cats' lives, and as diehard cat lovers, we cannot thank them enough.

But there are times when a shelter needs to be called out. Yes, they do the work of angels, but cat shelters cannot expect to hold the stick in both ends: claiming to heal and nurture strays so they may be adopted, and expect a potential adopter to carry medical responsibility for their mistakes. You cannot do both - especially if you're a committed shelter, which wants to keep a good reputation to have more people adopt the floofy friends you care for. People need to adopt more cats, but it's reasonable to ask shelters to help people adopt healthy cats into their homes.

This exact situation happened to one cat mom. She did the right thing, she adopted a cute cat from a shelter, but as soon as the shelter realized this kitty wasn't treated correctly - they threw all the responsibility on the new cat mom, leaving her to deal with cat health and bills. This is not the way a cat shelter should act.

Caturday Best: 20+ Most Purrfect Weekly Cat Memes From the Expawrts of 'I Can Has Cheezburger' (Augu

Posted by Ayala Sorotsky

Happy Caturday, dear cat pawrents and feline fans! We know that life with cats isn't always smooth whiskers and belly rubs. Sometimes it's 5 AM wake-up calls, shredded curtains, or that mysterious crash from the other room when you swear they were just napping. Raising a cat can be a challenge, but it's the best kind of challenge. Because in between the chaos, the sass, and the fur tumbleweeds rolling through the hallway, there are those pure, meowgical moments of love that make it all so worth it.

And that's exactly how cat memes work, too. Sure, we scroll past countless posts and pictures, but we prowl through the week's mememery to find the absolute best - the ones that make us meow with laughter, and send them to every friend in our contacts. Just like raising cats, the payoff is always worth the effort.

That's why we bring you Caturday Best: the weekly roundup of the funniest, most pawsitively perfect cat memes the internet has to offer. Because if there's one thing better than being owned by a cat, it's celebrating their antics together - one meme at a time. Happy scrolling and happy Caturday!

26 Purring Cat Posts to Remind You That Being Quirky is Purrfectly Cute

Posted by Blake Seidel

Some cats have completely different purrsonalities when other hoomans are around. A lot of cats are nervous around hoomans and people invading their space (we say "their space" because they are the kings and queens of their houses, obviously). So when non-cat people come over to your house, they often see a cold, indifferent cat that is more shy and scared than the one you know at home. But we know how they really are. When it's just you and them, how snuggly they can be, and best of all, how pawsitively quirky they really are.

Maybe your cat sneaks into the fridge to eat the butter straight from the stick, or you find your fluffy feline sleeping in your sink (somehow purrfectly comfy), or you know your cat's exact spot to make them go bananas and meow like crazy. Honestly, we wouldn't believe you if you said your cat wasn't quirky because we believe that all cats are actually adorable little weirdos at heart.

But then, we want you to ask the same of yourself - why do you love when your cat is authentically themselves, but you hide the quirky parts of your purrsonality because you're afraid of what others might think? If you think your awwdorable cat who must smell every spoon you take out is cute, why can't you accept that your quirks will be cute to someone else as well? Maybe not everyone will like them, but you don't get everyone to like you anyway. Take a picture from your cat's playbook and just be purrfectly you. Your cat (and your soul) will thank you later.

Hidden camera catches adorable ginger cat comforting anxious dog while their family is away

Posted by Mariel Ruvinsky

Is it just us or do you guys also think that cats act differently when we are not looking? We swear, there have been so many times when we caught our cats in the act. We just don't know what "the act" is, because every time we catch them, they go back to their normal chill selves. Sure, sometimes we catch our cats trying to steal food off our plates, but honestly, we don't think they're trying to hide that from us. And sometimes, we catch our cats sleeping in funny position, but they're not hiding that from us either.

But we know. We know in our guts that our cats are living another life behind our backs. And today, we have been proven right. Sort of. The cat in this video is definitely living a life behind its parent's backs, a life that involves cuddling the dog. The cat must think that its desire to calm the dog when it is anxious is something to be ashamed of, he's hiding it that much. But it is not. It is actually adorable. And we are so glad that the cameras in the house caught it.

'I just got back today and… I’m fuming': Roommate drama blows up after 2 roommates gang up on the th

Posted by Mariel Ruvinsky

We can tell you from experience that leaving your cat in the hands of someone else while you go on vacation is one of the most difficult things that you can do. We're sure that all of you guys who have cats understand. These are our family members, we take care of them with the same affection that we would our baby. We do our best to look for someone that we trust to take care of our cats while we're away. We write clear instructions for our cat-sitters. But mistakes happen, and sometimes, a cat-sitter breaks your trust in the worst ways possible.

Leaving the cat to their roommates was definitely a mistake here. This roommate has cat-sat before. There was reason to trust her. But there were also enough reasons to be suspicious, and this cat owner knew it. Their gut told them that they should look for someone else, but out of respect for the roommate, they didn't. In the end, it was the cat who hurt the most because of the incident, and we are very glad that the cat and its owner are moving out of that house soon.

Kickass Women in History: Field Trip!

Posted by Carrie S

This month we are going on a field trip! I visited the Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park in Richmond, California. This National Historical Park includes a small but mighty visitor’s center that has fascinating and inclusive exhibits. I encourage history buffs to check out their website.

Better yet, if you are visiting San Francisco or Oakland, take a side trip to this location. It’s set along the San Francisco Bay Trail which, to my delight, is wheelchair accessible as well as lovely.

WWII marked a time when an unprecedented number of women entered the workforce, particularly in fields that had been previously open only to men. The government used propaganda not only to encourage women to work outside the home, but also to persuade the men in their lives to allow it. One of the outcomes of this public relations effort was the creation of “Rosie the Riveter.”

Here’s how it happened: In 1942, Redd Evans and John Jacob Loeb wrote a song called “Rosie the Riveter.” It was recorded in 1943. Here’s a recording which also features photos from the Library of Congress:

Also in 1942, artist J. Howard Miller created the “We Can Do It!” poster for Westinghouse. This poster was only in use for a couple of weeks, but gained new life as a feminist poster in the 1980s. Meanwhile, Norman Rockwell painted “Rosie the Riveter” for the cover of the Saturday Evening Post. While Miller’s poster didn’t take off until decades later, Rockwell’s painting was a hit immediately. This painting, combined with the song, created a character of ‘Rosie the Riveter” that continues to shape the way we think about the capabilities and roles of women.

Painting of woman wearing blue coveralls and a red bandana, fist raised, in front of a yellow background, saying "WE CAN DO IT!" in white letter in a blue speech bubble

One thing that the Visitor’s Center makes clear is that many women of color felt that the Rosie story is a story exclusively about middle and upper class White women. After all, many women of color were already working outside the home not because of patriotic fervor but because of financial necessity. Women of color usually were hired only after White women, were given less prestigious and more dangerous work, were paid less, and were the first to be fired.

The Visitor’s Center has displays about the vital work that was done by people of color, as well as disabled people and LGBTQIA+ people. It also talks about the shameful incarceration of Japanese American citizens that the government carried out in California during the war.

Above all, the museum displays the tremendous social impact that WWII had on working communities as they travelled to shipyards such as the one in Richmond, and to other industrialized centers. People scrambled for housing. They petitioned for on-site daycare, workplace safety, and healthcare. The efforts of women of all backgrounds proved vitally influential for later civil rights, labor, and women’s rights movements.

I highly recommend a visit to the memorial if you get a chance. If you go on Friday, you can meet a real-life Rosie the Riveter who will answer questions about their experiences! You can also buy Sign My Name to Freedom, an autobiography written by Betty Reid Soskin, an African American woman who helped develop the center and who, as of 2013, was America’s oldest National Park Service Ranger (she has since retired).

If you can’t visit in person, do check out the website which tells the stories of many Kickass Women. If you have a favorite museum, visitor’s center, or other location that highlights Kickass Women, tell us in the comments!

A Fancy Feast of 22 Feline Feel-Goods To Browse on Lazy Caturday Mornings (August 30, 2025)

Posted by Lana DeGaetano

Top of the meowrnin' to ya, pet parents of the internet. Did you miss us? We sure missed you! If you're looking for some funnies to satisfy your wholesome sweet tooth, we have a handful of feline posts right here for you, courtesy of the fanciest of feasts.

Caturday is reserved for:

  1. Being lazy on the couch
  2. Cuddling with your favorite furry friend

Are you participating in number one, number two, or both? It better be both! Heck, it's Friday as I'm writing this, and I'm participating in both! Thank you, WFH gods…

Enough about that. Felines purrvide us with all of the serotonin we need to weather even the most upsetting of storms, and they don't even need to try. Their adorable whiskers, their soft toe beans and paw pads, and their low hums when they're happy make coming home worth it. Who else would we share our laziest moments with? Well, yes, a romantic partner, maybe… but cats don't talk during a movie. Actually, I don't think I can confidently say that.

Scroll below to get a much-needed dose of serotonin delivered straight to your phone. Happy Caturday!

21 Clingy Cat Memes Craving Constant Attention

Posted by Sarah Brown

If you've ever lived with a cat, you already know: when they want attention, you'll know. Forget subtle hints. Cats are masters of the dramatic pawformance. They'll meow like they're narrating a soap opera, flop across your keyboard mid-email, or plant themselves directly on top of whatever book you dared try to read. Because clearly, your lap is the only page worth turning.

Cats have perfected the art of "accidental" chaos. That glass on the counter? It's now part of their improv routine. That important Zoom call? Consider it upgraded to a Zoomies call when your furball streaks across the screen. And let's not even start on the mysterious 3 a.m. purrsuasion tactics.

The truth is, cats just know how to keep things pawsitively interesting. They might act like aloof little divas one minute, then demand snuggles like you're their emotional support human the next. It's all part of their charm. At the end of the day, we're not just their owners. We're their full-time audience, servants, and adoring fans. And honestly? We wouldn't have it any other way.

'After accepting my very first delivery, the packages have already found homes': Worker rescues two

Posted by Sarah Brown

Last week, a warehouse shift turned into a full-blown catastrophe, but the good kind. While unloading a truck, the worker heard the unmistakable sound of tiny, distressed meows echoing through the garage. Like a seasoned pawfessional, they sprinted toward the source and discovered a skinny, scrappy little kitten demanding immediate attention. Naturally, the package was signed for and scooped up without hesitation.

But just when everyone thought the delivery was complete, a second surprise shipment revealed itself. An orange fluffball hiding in the pallet stacks, playing peek-a-boo like a feline Houdini. No matter the strategym sneaking, squeezing, or even climbing, the worker was repeatedly outsmarted. The orange menace clearly had nine lives' worth of tricks.

Just as hope seemed lost, the night manager swooped in like a true hero, snatching the orange escape artist mid-recon. The rescue crew erupted in victory mews. Mission accomplished. Both kittens didn't just get saved. They got adopted, trading forklifts and pallets for forever homes filled with warm laps, endless snacks, and zero overtime.

Posted by Laurent Shinar

Oh, that pesky Cat Distribution System, when will it stop delivering kittens? Probably never, and we would be lying if we said that we did not like it that way. But for the receiver of the kitten in question, it is a slightly different story. For you see, this rescuer already had a cat at home, an older, slightly grumpy territorial catto who was not willing to share their home with another cat really.

And after trying to find the rescued black kitten a home to no avail, it was clear that the CDS had intended for our rescuer to be this kitten's new pawrent. Proving that sometimes you put yourself in a kitten's life, and other times the kitten puts itself into your life. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end and now they live as one big happy family.

Reincarnation is a concept that has been spoken about in various cultures for thousands of years. And if you consider your soul to be made up of some form of energy, and accept the scientific fact that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, then it is not a far cry to imagine that your soul's energy could be transferred upon your passing.

Which is certainly what this feline pawrent began to think when the kitten they adopted started behaving in ways that their soul cat who had recently passed used to. Whether it was sniffing around where the old litter box used to be, or the kitten's ability to comprehend far beyond its years, there was something oddly familiar about this kitten. We will leave the rest to be read by you, so that you can decide whether this is indeed a case of cat reincarnation, but what we will say is that whether it is or not, there are a whole load of creepy coincidences here.
